Need for Speed gets Dominic Cooper, a plot, and speed

Now joining Aaron Paul and Imogen Gay Poots (giggle because I am twelve) for the upcoming Need for Speed adaptation in 2014, is Dominic Cooper (The Devil’s Double, Captain America: The First Avenger) as he sets to play Dino, “an ex-NASCAR driver who uses his connections to the wealthy to create a business rebuilding and modifying supercars,” according to Variety. I assume that also means that each car he modifies will come with giant ads for Crisco and Penzoil.

Along with Cooper’s casting, Need for Speed also got a quick plot description:

Story follows an underground race car driver (Aaron Paul) who owns a garage that modifies expensive cars to make them faster for racing. Framed and sent to prison when his best friend is murdered during a race, he seeks revenge upon his release.

Um…I’m sure there is a Need for Speed story expert out there who can tell me if this is faithful to the games or not. Until then, I’ll just assume this is like Fast Five with less greasy, musclebound bald dudes.
