Netflix Now: Howl’s Moving Castle Edition

0

This week is surprisingly light on new movies to stream. Well, not surprisingly; this is Netflix, after all. But the only movies that catch my eye this week are Tyler Perry’s For Colored Girls and Hayao Miyazaki’s Howl’s Moving Castle. I might rewatch Howl’s Moving Castle, because it does seem like people like it a lot! But as the follow-up to Miyazaki’s career-defining Spirited Away — supposedly his final film before he un-retired! — in a filmography already filled with fantastic films, I couldn’t help but come away disappointed.

That’s not to say that there aren’t a lot of new streaming options. They’re just all documentary or reality TV series, mostly from Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, Investigation Discovery, Military Channel, and TLC. It mostly looks like garbage, but I couldn’t help but notice Dark Days in Monkey City, “an epic story about the fall and rise of the Temple Troop, the mightiest tribe in Monkey City, and the courage of its humblest female.” This isn’t Planet of the Apes, these are real monkeys. That sounds awesome.

See if you can find your own interest in the list below, because God knows they added enough different shows to fill almost every niche.

New additions to Netflix Watch Instantly apply only to readers in the United States. For those in other parts of the world, your choices may vary.
