Netflix Now: Kareem Abdul-JaBLAMO Editon

April has really been a weird month. With its wacky weather, unfortunate deaths, and racism. The whole Donald Sterling thing seemed absurd. A white man says some racist comments in a private conversation, that conversation gets leaked to TMZ, and cede white man gets a lifetime ban from the NBA. While I’m not going to say I condone the man’s words (being a racist is not cool), I believe Kareem Abdul-Jabbar said it best when he pointed out the weirdness of the whole situation in his great TIME article

So, if we’re all going to be outraged, let’s be outraged that we weren’t more outraged when his racism was first evident. Let’s be outraged that private conversations between people in an intimate relationship are recorded and publicly played. Let’s be outraged that whoever did the betraying will probably get a book deal, a sitcom, trade recipes with Hoda and Kathie Lee, and soon appear on Celebrity Apprentice and Dancing with the Stars.

At least Netflix Instant isn’t racist. This week we have some gems like Don Jon, The
Pervert’s Guide to Ideology, Metallica Through the Never, Odd Thomas, and…uh…The Benchwarmers? Hit the jump for the full list.
