Netflix’s The Witcher will include a bathtub scene

One of the more memetic scenes from CD Projekt’s The Witcher 3 was a moment when Geralt was taking a bath. For whatever reason, fans latched onto that as this moment of hilarity in an otherwise serious game. It’s even become a statue for those that really want to cherish the small moment of humanity for the titular character. Since it’s become such an “important” moment for the character, it would only stand to reason that Netflix’s upcoming adaptation would include the moment.

Speaking to Gizmodo, The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich confirmed that something will be happening with a bathtub. “There is a bathtub this season. There is a bathtub,” Hissrich confirmed. “I won’t tell you who’s in the bathtub, but there is a bathtub.” She then noted that, as fans of the source material and games, the writers wanted to pay homage to the quirky scenes that fans have come to love. While this show will be more an adaptation of the novels (and going so far as to not adapt the games), it seems this iconic moment is too big to leave out.

So, there you have it. The world will not be deprived of Henry Cavill sitting naked in a tub and soaking. I’m not sure this show would even be worth filming if that was left out.
