New Pee-wee Herman film likely to shoot in 2014 (finally)

It’s been more than a year since we last heard about the new Pee-wee Herman movie produced by Judd Apatow, but according to a recent interview with Paul Reubens in the LA Times, it looks like it’s going to happen soon. Finally. Again.

Here’s what Steven Zeitchik wrote in his LA Times piece:

And though, yes, we’ve been hearing about this movie for the better part of three years, Reubens said he believes that the script is ready and financing has come together. The movie, he said, will likely shoot next year, continuing a comic tradition that many of us ’80’s kids remember well from Pee-wee’s Big Adventure.

The LA Times piece also says a new Pee-wee show will be on the air next year featuring Pee-wee and his Playhouse friends. Reubens told Zeitchik, “Short of something unforeseen like the studio going out of business, I think it’s very likely both these projects will happen next year.”

Looks like we’ll just have to wait and see. Chrysanthemum‎.
