Oh boy! Cars 2 image, synopsis, and trailer

Cars is at the very bottom of my Pixar film list and having worked at the now-defunct KB Toys did the film no favors. I’m not big on automobiles to begin with outside of the convenience of them getting me from here to there, and having to stare at cars that actually stare back got old quick. Now, imagine the joy that the sequel’s plot synopsis brought me today.

Star racecar Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. I especially like the awesome pun about towing the line. One of my favorite movie clichés is definitely ‘old redneck tow truck becomes international man of mystery.’ We’ll find out June 24th whether or not Disney made a huge mistake following Toy Story 3 with…this.

UPDATE: There's a trailer now. Check it out after the jump, then join me in the corner as I curl up into the fetal position. Poor, poor Michael Caine…{{page_break}}
