One Cut of the Dead wants you to skip its own trailer

One Cut of the Dead - Official Trailer [HD] | A Shudder Exclusive

Doing a movie in a single take is all the rage these days, so we should have all assumed that someone would make a zombie movie using that same hook. And so here we are with One Cut of the Dead, the Birdman of zombie movies–except this looks way more entertaining than Birdman.

It could also possibly not be that at all, as the cagey description promises a twist at a pretty specific timestamp. So, in what “appears” to be a single-take zombie movie the director yells “Cut” 37 minutes in, and then One Cut of the Dead evidentially becomes something totally different. I don’t know about you, but I like things that are different.

I can only comment on the trailer (which doesn’t even want me to watch it), but this looks charming and fun, and I’m definitely down to see more. Even if it was a single-take zombie movie about zombies attacking the set of a zombie movie, I’d be interested.

One Cut of the Dead will bite into theaters in New York and Los Angeles September 13, 2019 with a one-day-only wide release on September 17, followed by an eventual release exclusively on Shudder.
