By Only Lovers Left Alive features Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston as cultured vampire lovers, whose romance has lasted for centuries. They have evolved and become more civilized than the need to kill for blood, but retain a vestigial dangerousness.
Only Lovers Left Alive looks like a pretty run-of-the-mill sexy vampire story to me, although our dearly departed Hubert Vigilla enjoyed it when he saw it back at NYFF. I’ve always loved the eccentric Swinton in pretty much anything and Hiddleston plays a reclusive musician vampire, so at the very least the characters should be interesting to watch. Only Lovers Left Alive comes to theaters April 11th.
