REC 3 and 4 posters are awesome

Most of my favorite scary movies come from other countries. The fact that Tartan Asia Extreme has dumped a bundle of horror films into the Netflix instant queue is fantastic. However, one of my biggest regrets is that I’ve never seen REC or its sequel REC 2. What’s worse is that I’ve only seen the American remake, Quarantine. On the bright side, there’s still time to catch up before the guys behind REC bring us not one, but two more installments in the found film franchise.

The third installment, REC Génesis, will be a prequel, showing the beginnings of the virus and is due out next fall and will be helmed by returning director Paco Plaza. The fourth installment, REC Apocalypse, sees the infection spreading to presumably epic proportions. The other co-director of the first two films, Jaume Balaguero, will direct and Apocalypse should be out in the fall of 2012.

The posters are simple and effective, and while I’m not huge on prequels, I am stoked to catch up in time for REC Apocalypse. Check out the posters for both films in the gallery!
