Rogue gets to be in X-Men: Days of Future Past after all

With the seemingly endless amount of big name stars and characters in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, it’s hard not to believe some of those characters would be left on the cutting room floor. One of those characters was Anna Paquin’s Rogue. A while ago, director Bryan Singer admitted that one of the extraneous scenes (Magneto, Iceman, and Professor X breaking Rogue out of prison) was cut, and since it was the only scene Rogue was in, it meant Paquin was cut from the film entirely. Well, that’s changed.

After the final trailer released, Buzzfeed noticed Paquin’s name was still featured in the trailers and asked 20th Century Fox about the situation. Turns out she gets to cameo during one of the battles in order to help keep Wolverine in the past (the real reason is a bit spoilery, so I won’t detail it here). Also of note is the sequel will feature three mutant cameos that haven’t been spoiled by advertising yet! I wonder if they’ll play any part in the already confirmed sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse (which will most likely move on with a different director due to recent unfortunate events).

X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters May 23rd.
