By Avoiding all of the obvious “offer he can’t refuse” jokes, negotiations have begun that would put Zombieland’s Ruben Fleischer at the helm of the upcoming gangster film Gangster Squad, which is about gangsters. This gangster-filled gangster film has had some serious buzz going around in regards to its script, which was penned by former L.A. police officer Will Beall. With any luck, these negotiations will lead to an actual real movie being made. It’s always nice when that happens.
While Fleischer may have some other things on his plate, this may prove to be a great fit for the director should it come to fruition. Other hot directors such as Ben Affleck (feels weird to call him that, but he has earned it) had previously expressed interested but never became officially attached to the project.Â
