Russell Crowe takes lead role in Darren Aronofky’s Noah

Last month there was word that Russell “Master & Motherf*cking Commander” Crowe was in talks for the lead role in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah. Now we have official confirmation that the Crowester will indeed star in the Aronofsky sci-fi epic. Though I assume that Crowe had a choice of playing Noah or The Ark itself, it seems he’s going to play it safe and will be taking on the role of Noah (boring!).

We’ve seen the beautiful graphic novel illustrations and we know it to be a trippy sci-fi retelling of the biblical story, but there’s part of me that hopes with the addition of Crowe Aronofsky this will become something completely different. That thing? Why, a live action remake of fictional show Russell Crowe Fightin’ Around the World from that one episode of South Park, of course! Just imagine, a two hour Aronofsky visual fest of a drunken Russell Crowe just cursing and fighting everything and anything? Magnifique!
