Six new images from Oz the Great and Powerful

Last week we brought you the trailer for Oz the Great and Powerful, the new film from Sam Raimi starring James Franco. As Alex pointed out, it looks a bit like Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, but it may not be as big a blunder as the Burton film.

Six new images have popped up for Oz the Great and Powerful, each providing additional glimpses into the visual style of the film. Some of it is quite cool, such as that ruined porcelain city called China Towne. (No joke.) Then again, in some ways this looks like a point-and-click puzzle game from the 90s. And of course, Michelle Williams as Glinda the Good Witch is straight out of my Dawson’s Creek fan fiction; I eventually tie Dawson’s Creek into The Station Agent, Dick, and Blue Valentine, sort like Michelle Williams on Infinite Earths.

Check out these Oz the Great and Powerful images in the gallery. The film is scheduled for a March 2013 release.
