Sometimes you got to kick ass for God in trailer for The Mercenary

Jesse V. Johnson, the director of super good punch-em-ups like Avengement and Savage Dog, is back for another bloody actioner, this time lacking in Scott Adkins but retaining Dominique Vandenberg from Triple Threat.

On what could be the same sets as Savage Dog, we see Vandenberg as Maxx, a mercenary left for dead (naturally) who is rescued by a church and turns to a life of peace (of course)–but then the baddies who left him for dead return (oh no!), and he has to loosen his collar to stab, shoot, punch, and kick his way through an IKEA’s worth of furniture while murdering and maiming everyone in his path to prove that he’s a good guy now. I can’t wait.

This is a green band trailer, so it only hints at the bone-crunching hits I’m hoping to see here, but anything with Johnson’s name attached gets my interest plenty piqued.

The Mercenary will hit VOD and DVD on January 7, 2019.
