While much of Rambo V: Last Blood is still shrouded in mystery, star Sylvester Stallone has recently shared some behind-the-scenes footage from the set of the film. It certainly shows Stallone doing some Rambo-like things, including shooting a gun and smelting weapons. While I was initially confused, it turns out the film is taking a turn towards the Western genre of movies, which honestly raises more questions than it answers.

At least the caption on Stallone’s Instagram post points to a more grounded film like the original. “A handmade film like the 1st one … BLOOD SWEAT TEARS And working with fantastic actors! Sept 20 #rambo5,” reads the post, which is definitely something. All I can hope for is that after three decades, Stallone has finally realized that First Blood was so highly regarded because of how realistic it was. There’s no need to turn John Rambo into a killing machine with superhuman strength.

Rambo V: Last Blood will be releasing on September 20, 2019.
