The Halloween sequels are confirmed to be coming out October 2020 and 2021

After months of speculation and rumors swirling about, we finally have confirmation that the next two Halloween movies will be shot back to back and will be coming out October 16, 2020, and October 15, 2021, respectively.

Not only do we get confirmation of the release dates for these two movies…we get titles too! The first sequel coming out in 2020 will be titled Halloween Kills and the second sequel coming out in 2021 will be the appropriately named Halloween Ends. It is quite refreshing not to have another numbered sequel, which would further plunge this franchise into confusingly titled movies.

Just when you thought it was over there are even more announcements! Jason Blum confirmed via twitter that, alongside Jamie Lee Curtis coming back, we also get David Gordon Green returning to direct and co-writer Danny McBride returning as well. Anyone else? Ah yes, John Carpenter is also back! It is likely he will continue contributing with the score and in a consultant role for this rebooted franchise.

This is all good news. This team returning keeps hopes high that the upcoming sequels will maintain the quality of the most recent installment. Much to some people’s dismay, No plot details were released with the rest of this avalanche of announcements. The guess would be the Halloween Kills will have plenty of killing and Halloween Ends will have many ends. Either way, the main goal should be to do something new with the story and give fans that sweet sweet Halloween goodness. Here’s hoping that Halloween Ends is a fitting end of the Saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode.

Halloween Kills will kill its way into theaters October 16, 2020, and Halloween Ends will end October 15, 2021
