The Proud Family to make a comeback on Disney+

If you didn’t watch The Proud Family, an animated classic show on Disney Channel and Family Channel here in Canada, you missed out. Well, like all other shows that Disney has ever made, The Proud Family is coming back to air exclusively on Disney+. Tommy Davidson who voiced Oscar, Penny’s crazy quirky dad confirmed it to outlet Where Is the Buzz during the premiere of 47 Meters Down: Uncaged.

I forgot to tell you that, The Proud Family is coming back. Proud Family’s coming back. It’s on one of Disney’s streaming [services]. Yeah, Proud Family’s coming back. They told me not to tell you. New episodes.

The early 2000’s animated sitcom ran between 2001-2005. It ended after 52 episodes culminating with a movie, The Proud Family Movie, which aired in 2005. The film was supposed to serve as the finale to the series and to be perfectly honest, we haven’t heard anything about it since. Disney+ seems to be gearing up to bring subscribers a ton of new content, new episodes of beloved animated shows as well as old classics. I watched this show religiously when it was on and fell in love with it. It will be interesting to see just what Penny, her family, and friends are up to these days.

Much like how That’s So Raven made a comeback with Raven’s Home, I suspect fans who watched the original will probably return back in order to catch up or introduce their family to The Proud Family. Not much information on what to expect in these episodes has been released just yet. With a November release date for Disney+ looming soon, you can be sure more information is on the way.
