Tim Burton in talks for Beetlejuice 2, Keaton returning

KatzSmith Productions has been kicking around the rights and ideas for a Beetlejuice rebootquel for awhile now, so we all knew it was going to exist someday in some capacity. Most of us feared that a new Beetlejuice would somehow ruin our childhood with a different cast (I mean, Winona Ryder didn’t seem too interested in the idea), directed by someone other than Tim Burton, or a lack of Michael Keaton.

Well, we don’t have to worry about one of those things anymore. First off, Beetlejuice 2 is still kickin’, and more importantly, Michael Keaton will return to play Beetlejuice because no one else could feasibly do so. Secondly, according to The Wrap, Tim Burton is now in talks to direct the film eventually. The site notes now that Warner Bros is confident in the script Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) wrote, they’re now going through Burton’s schedule and waiting for an availability. Basically, it won’t be Burton’s next film but it is in the pipeline. Who wants more Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice? I’ll just stick to watching the cartoon, thanks.
