Trailer: 4:44 Last Day On Earth

We all knew this day was coming. 4:44 Last Day On Earth. It’s when Zombie Jesus rises from the dead to give all the good little girls and boys their Easter eggs they’ve been pining for… or something. Look, all’s I know is that there’s these pissed off Mayan gods and I’m pretty sure there’s gonna be a showdown between them and Zombie Jesus. It’s in April, I think. April 4th. Because that’s when 4:44 Last Day On Earth comes out in theaters… and as the aptly named “Abel” Ferrara said before going on to direct his latest film, “If there’s nobody to see it, I’ll watch it,”

The story of 4:44 Last Day On Earth takes place in none other than New York City (because we haven’t seen that place destroyed enough times) and follows “Willem Dafoe and Shanyn Leigh (Mrs Ferrara) as Cisko and Skye, a couple greeting an incoming armageddon by arguing and having sex. Cisko then leaves their apartment for a heroin-fuelled nighttime odyssey, before the deadline of 4:44am, after which, it’s all over.” That pretty much sounds like the plot of Go. I already love this movie.

Overall, it’s an interesting premise, as we’ve never quite seen an apocalyptic movie from this decidedly small-world perspective. I guess it really is the end of the world as we’re not really seeing any big budget apocalypse films this year. Studios must be quaking in their boots.
