Trailer for McFarland, USA features minorities triumphing

0

As far as motivational sports movies go Disney has been on a pretty good streak of pumping out at least descent films. Million Dollar Arm was enjoyable and the next in the line up is McFarland, USA, which, you guessed it, is based on a true story.

As you can see it starts Kevin Costner and involves a group of Hispanic youths becoming more thanks to athletics. Pretty cliche story on the whole, but Disney knows how to handle these things well enough and keep the “white knight” factor in check at least a bit. The 80s setting should also let some pretty awesome sports montages occur. On a day when we should all be out voting why not cut a movie that’s clearly as American as possible a little slack.
