Transformers sequels have found their writers, including Robert Kirkman

Remember that weird sounding “writers room” Paramount was trying to set up for Transformers sequels and spin-offs Jackson wrote about some time ago? To make the whole thing weirder, we now know who’s a part of it. Seemingly following the current trend of mining television and other non-cinema media for capable writers, Paramount’s brain trust includes: Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Art Marcum & Matt Holloway (Punisher: War Zone), Zak Penn (The Incredible Hulk), and Jeff Pinkner (Lost).

I’m not sure what to think about all of this. Sure a writer’s guild overseen by Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg, and Akiva Goldsman sounds like a good idea, but it’s Transformers we’re talking about here. But hey, maybe it’ll result in at least one that’s watchable all the way through. Then again, as long as each film keeps making eleventy billion dollars, Paramount could give a bumblebee.
