Update on How to Train Your Dragon sequel and TV show

With the sequel now in preproduction, BadTaste posted a past interview with Tim Johnson, the executive producer of
How to Train Your Dragon
. He revealed that the director Dean DeBlois plans to make it much bigger than the first film, and that the crew is still trying to figure out how to design the ambitious sets and new characters that will be explored in the sequel.

He also discusses different endings for the first film that were planned and eventually discarded, how we can expect to see two or three DreamWorks 3D films in theaters each year from here on out, and also Guillermo del Toro’s recent involvement with DreamWorks as well.

According to Tim, the goal is for the TV series to come out in 2012 with the movie’s sequel following in Autumn of 2013.
