World War Z to rise from its grave…maybe

One of the coolest parts of last year’s New York Comicon was getting to me Max Brooks, son of Mel Brooks and author of the fabulous Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z. We asked him what he knew about the film adaptation of World War Z, to which he just looked at us sadly and responded with something to the effect of, “What do you know about it?” Disconcerting, to say the least. At least Dre got a signed copy of the Zombie Survival Guide!

They say no news is good news, and that seemed to hold true until last week, when Alex reported that Paramount was about to put a bullet into World War Z’s brain. However, /film reports that there may be a light at the end of the tunnel!

David Ellison’s Skydance Productions, the company who played a key role in the funding of True Grit and the upcoming Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, along with “as many as two other financiers” are in serious talks to get World War Z made.

YAY! That’s great news. However, there’s still no word on them coming to their senses and not making it PG-13. We can only hope, because if zombie movies have taught us anything, sometimes hope is all you have left.
