John Landis returning to horror with bilingual monsters

I miss John Landis. His last film, Burke and Hare, was less than a quality picture. The man hasn’t made a good movie since 1988’s Coming to America. Well, I know a few supporters of Beverly Hills Cop III, but those people are probably dog rapists. Thankfully, there may still be some life in the old goat yet. Landis is currently writing a monster movie with Alexandre Gavras. There are no details on the film as of yet, other than that it will be shot in both French and English. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this is absolutely definitive proof that he’s working on an American Werewolf in Paris sequel. The film has also evidently been cast, though Landis was coy about the details.

I recently revisited An American Werewolf in London, and it sadly doesn’t hold up well. The makeup work remains some of Rick Baker’s finest, and the film still holds a place in my heart. Nevertheless, I’m excited for John Landis to return to the genre that he shook up in a big way in his early days.
