Netflix stacks a second season for Russian Doll

Premiering this past February to a strong critical reception (our own Peter Glagowski was a fan!) and buzz amongst viewers, Russian Doll is the time-loop series from Natasha Lyonne, Leslye Headland, and Amy Poehler in which a young woman finds herself reliving the same, fatal birthday party over and over again. We’ve come a long way since Groundhog Day

Following season one’s success, Netflix has announced the renewal for a second season of Russian Doll, set to feature eight episodes like the first season. At a tech conference in Arizona, co-creator and star Natasha Lyonne spoke briefly on the renewal, saying “same show, just weirder. The character is a coder, so it would be appropriate to have this be the time and place to say, yes. So very much yes, I would love to do [a second season].”

No further details on returning cast or a release date have emerged, but expect to hear much more about Russian Doll’s second season in the coming months.
