The Grudge getting rebooted, new franchise to come

Ju-On: The Grudge was a Japanese horror film in 2002 that hit it off so big, an American version was made (dubbed The Grudge, and starred Sarah Michelle Gellar) only two years later. A quick turn around during a time Hollywood wasn’t too quick to jump on the reboot/remake bandwagon. Ten years after the first Grudge, it must be time to bring it back again. Stella’s Got Her Grudge Back.

According to Deadline, Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Taka Ichise (under Ghost House Pictures and Good Universe) are producing a reboot of the film with plans to resurrect the franchise. The only stickler about this whole thing is Jeff Buhler is set to write it instead of the original’s Takashi Shimizu. But I don’t really mind all that much since I was never a Grudge fan to begin with. I was more of Ring guy.
