The Shield, Lord of the Rings crossover, Bright, has 2nd trailer

Yes, Suicide Squad director David Ayer is teaming up with Will Smith again. Yes, that guy does look eerily reminiscent of Killer Croc, one of Deadshot’s (Smith) buddies from the old squad. And yes, Suicide Squad was awful. But none of that changes the fact that I’m incredibly excited about Netflix’s big budget, fantasy movie Bright.

This second full trailer does nothing to diminish that excitement, either. Outside of season 2 of Stranger Things, this might be the best thing to look for on Netflix through the holiday season.

While the trailer is clearly heavy on shots from a limited number of scenes, it makes effective use of the material to mask this (to an extent) and build excitement at the same time. Hopefully this is effective masking of plot points through clever trailer editing rather than an extremely limited plot.

I’ve never really been curious what the LAPD would be like with orcs on the force, or with magic in the drug game. Seriously it never crossed my mind. And, for the life of me, I’ve no idea how Bad Boys 3 can’t happen, but this can–was Martin Lawrence really that annoying on set?

Look for Bright to debut on Netflix December 22.
