Trailer: Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry

If there’s only one Chinese artist you’ve ever heard of, it very well may be Ai Weiwei. The lovable, hard-headed film, photography, sculpture, preformance and installation artist has made headlines over and over for his clashes with the Chinese government. Weiwei is absolutely beloved by a ton of Chinese citizens and Westerners alike, so as of yet he has been able to retain a semblance of security despite his radical acts.

Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry is a documentary about the legendary artist/activist by documentarian Alison Klayman. Klayman follows Weiwei through his legal battles with the Chinese government, harassment by local officials and features enlightened interviews with those close to Weiwei and of course with the man himself. The doc is making the festival rounds right now, so you can check out the movie’s website for a listing of their sporadic screenings.
