Director Xavier Dolan’s film Mommy examines the tumultuous lives of a mother and son as they go through the challenge of growing up. Unable to do everything alone, the sassy widowed mother finds balance when their neighbor offers to help home-school the unpredictable 15-year old.
Mommy was chosen to be Canada’s bid in the International category of this year’s Oscars, so it may be a film worth checking out when it comes out in American theaters in January, 2015.
