Trailer: Paranormal Activity 4

Another October, another Paranormal Activity is released unto the masses, who will foolishly gobble it up and start the cycle all over again. I’ve seen the first and second, and was suitably entertained, but found footage movies have long overstayed their welcome in modern entertainment, let alone a series of them that are all tied together by some threadbare plot device. And there’s a creepy kid now? How many goddamn haunted children have there been through out cinema history? A whole hell of a lot, that’s how many! And blatant product placement? Of the Kinect no less!? I’m disgusted.

If this is what it has come to, maybe this really will be the last Paranormal Activity for awhile. I’ve never seen a studio dry up a franchise as fast as Paramount has done with these movies. Worse yet, the first one was novel and fresh, so the sting of watching them take this series into the alley to use and leave wet and cold and broken is just that much worse. I just can’t muster any enthusiasm for these films anymore. I think I’ll just wait for Sinister in order have my horror appetite satiated. Who’s with me?
