Uncharted filming is going great according to Tom Holland

Uncharted

Despite the hardships that Sony’s Uncharted has faced in its transition to the silver screen, it seems everything is going swimmingly for the video game adaptation. In a new post from actor Tom Holland on Instagram this morning, the Spider-Man star has revealed that filming is going great on this big-screen version of the hit PlayStation franchise.

“Filming is going so well,” Holland enthusiastically stated. “The film is like, everything I dreamed it would be. I mean, I don’t know if you guys played the games, but I was such a huge fan of the game, and it’s been going so well.” Holland teased something about a bruise he received during filming, but jokingly stated he couldn’t show it off.

Considering how many setbacks, director changes, and delays Uncharted has faced, it’s really nice to hear that production is on track. With the games essentially being movies themselves, it shouldn’t be too hard to adapt the IP for film. We know that this version will be a prequel to the series and possibly even take place before the PlayStation Vita title Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

Even if filming wraps up before the end of 2020, I wouldn’t expect to see Uncharted in theaters until mid-2021 at the earliest. With the coronavirus still a looming threat over the world, it would be stupid for Sony to put this out in theaters before then.
