Disney+ Hawkeye series adds several new cast members

Hawkeye cast adds

With WandaVision details coming forth ahead of its January premiere, Marvel and Disney have started to detail the cast for their Hawkeye series, a terrific lineup to join stars Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld.

Rounding out the Hawkeye cast comes Vera Farmiga, Florence Pugh, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox, and Zahn McClarnon, most of whom are fresh faces to the Marvel sphere, but some casting may hint at the threads the new series may pick up.

Pugh will reprise her role as Yelena Belova, who is set to appear in 2021’s often-delayed Black Widow. Belova is among the titular Russian agents of which Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff is a part, making Pugh’s appearance in Hawkeye hint at all sorts of secret agent shenanigans.

Vera Farmiga is set to play Eleanor Bishop, the mother of Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop, who takes up the Hawkeye mantle from Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner). Fra Fee, Alaqua Cox, Zahn McClarnon, and Tony Dalton, make their MCU debuts. Dalton is best known, perhaps, from his work in Better Call Saul as the affably-menacing Lalo Salamanca. Better Call Saul is, of course, the best show on television.

With WandaVision around the corner and Disney’s slate of Marvel films eventually becoming available to audiences, expect to hear more on Hawkeye closer to its premiere, sometime in 2021.
