Ms.Marvel Makes Her MCU Debut In New Trailer

MsMarvel

Out of nowhere, Marvel released our first look at Ms.Marvel, another new DIsney+ exclusive show. Fans have been wondering when we would see more than a couple of frames, and finally, Marvel delivered. The trailer introduces newcomer and Canadian teen actor Iman Vellan who stars as Kamala Khan, aka Ms.Marvel.

From the trailer, it seems Marvel is deviating a little bit from the source material of her origin story, but it looks intriguing nonetheless. Aimed at a younger audience than Moon Knight, it seems charming and almost “Scott Pilgrim” like in nature.

Kamala is set to join two other powerful Marvel characters already introduced in the MCU, Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau. They will all feature in the upcoming film, The Marvels hitting theaters on February 23, 2023. In the coming months, we can probably expect more trailers and tv spots similar to how the marketing is currently going for Moon Knight, which hits Disney+ on March 30.

Official Synopsis from Marvel states:

“Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega-fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?”

Marvel fans are in for a full year with new shows, films, and content. We still have Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse of Madness, She/Hulk, and more coming. Ms.Marvel debuts on June 8.
