Rejected artist Don Hertzfeldt touring West Coast

“My anus is bleeding!” “My spoon is too big.” “I AM A BANANA!” If any of these quotes stimulated warm, fuzzy feelings inside of you, then the news I’m about to deliver will cause you to spasm. Don Hertzfeldt, the very awesome artist behind the Rejected cartoon, will be hitting select cities on the West Coast to help promote his newest film (and final part of the “Bill” trilogy), It’s such a beautiful day. The events include the trilogy played straight through in its entirety, as well as a Q&A with Hertzfeldt himself. Future cities and dates will be announced later.

For those who are only familiar with Rejected, the previous two entries in the trilogy, Everything will be ok and I am so proud of you, follow the main protagonist, Bill, through a dark, philosophical, and absurdist plot. Just as importantly, the short films are completely hand-animated and shot using a 35mm animation stand which he likes to let people know is “one of the last operating cameras of its kind left in America.” They’re all really experimental with really cool split-screen effects that’d make any darkroom nerd happy.
